Windows
* Microsoft Windows XP, Windows 2003, or Windows Vista
* Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or later, Firefox 2.0 or later,
or Google Chrome 1.0 (Chrome supported on Mediasite version 5.0.3
and later)
* Windows Media Player 9.0 or later
* Broadband Internet connection (256 Kbps or more)

Mac
* Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later
* Safari 2.0.4 or later or Firefox 2.0 or later
* Windows Media Player 9
* Broadband Internet connection (256 Kbps or more)

Mac - Mediasite Viewing Requirements:

* Mac OS X 10.4.8 or later
* Safari 2.0.4 or later or Firefox 2.0 or later .
* Windows Media Player 9 for Mac
* Broadband Internet connection (256 Kbps or more)

Mac Issues:

1) Windows Media Player 9 for Mac is not a Universal application and must
be run under Rosetta emulation on an Intel-based Mac. As such, the browser
must also be forced to run under Rosetta as well. This is a temporary
workaround until a practical solution is available.

Steps for configuring the browser to run under Rosetta emulation:

* Go to the Applications folder.
* Ctrl click the browser icon (e.g. Safari, Firefox) and click "Get info".
* Check the box labeled "Open using Rosetta".

The next time the web browser is launched it will run under Rosetta emulation.

2) The Flip4Mac plug-in causes problems when viewing Mediasite presentations
and should be disabled.

Issue:
Installing the Flip4Mac Windows Media component for QuickTime on the Mac OS
causes Mediasite presentations not to work in the Firefox, Netscape and Safari
browsers.

Solution:
When installing the Flip4Mac software, select the "do not install the plug-in"
option. If the plug-in is already installed, it can be disabled by doing the following:

* Go to the Mac OS X System Preferences.
* Click on "Flip4Mac WMV" under Other.
* Clear the "Use Flip4Mac WMV Internet Plug-in" checkbox on the Plug In tab.

3) Starting a presentation is very slow

When viewing a Mediasite presentation on Mac systems running 10.4.x, there may be a long delay before playback begins. In some cases, this delay can be a minute or more.
Note: This problem only seems to affect Mac OS 10.4.x. Earlier versions do not seem to have any delay issues when starting playback

Solution:

* Open Windows Media Player by selecting Go > Applications > Windows Media Player.
* From the toolbar select Windows Media Player > Preferences > Network Settings tab.
* Uncheck TCP and UDP boxes and click OK.

For all LIVE presentations
* Java Version 1.4.2 or later required for live captioning support
